Enjoy a day trip to Cairo from Hurghada. First of all, World Gate Tours representative will pick you up from your hotel in Hurghada or El Gouna and then you will start driving to Cairo (almost 6 hours’ drive) where you will be met and accompanied by your tour guide to discover the Giza pyramid of Cheops, Chephren and Mykerinus. The legendary Pyramids of Giza are the only remnants of the ancient Seven Wonders of the World and are, today, among the most famous and oldest attractions in the world. You have the chance to enter inside one of these legendary pyramids and marvel at the massive stones used to construct them (Extra ticket on spot), though your guide is not permitted to enter with you. Move on to enjoy the pyramids panoramic view and then drive to see the Valley temple of Chephren and the great Sphinx.
Enjoy Lunch at a quality local restaurant and then drive to the Egyptian Museum of antiquities, home to the world’s great collections of ancient Egyptian artefacts. The museum houses an unbelievable exhibit depicting ancient Egypt’s glorious reign. Mummies, sarcophagi, pottery, jewellery and of course King Tutankhamen’s treasures from jewellery to the famous golden death mask and his gilded sarcophagi, this pharaoh was certainly prepared for the afterlife. Your tour guide will introduce you to the museum’s most important pieces, and then you will have free time to explore at leisure or visit the Royal Mummy hall “Extra ticket on spot”.
Afterwards, drive to Coptic Cairo to visit the famed Hanging Church, a place of Orthodox worship and one of the oldest churches in Egypt. Next, walk to Abu Serga, known formally as Saints Sergius and Bacchus Church. This place has great significance as it is believed to be the spot where the Holy Family spent time during their journey in Egypt. Walk to Ben Ezra synagogue, which is the reputed location of Moses’ discovery as a baby.
Continue to discover Islamic Cairo and walk along the most famous street in Cairo, the oldest souk of Khan El-Khalili. After finished, you will be driven back to your hotel in Hurghada.
